Purity

Imagination is under attack and it is a state of emergency. Their essence is being targeted and there won't be much that can be done to reverse it. Activities can help cope with the damage but a large portion may be too far gone. Their birthright is being taken away by the allure of the vast amount of knowledge that they have at their fingertips. Why else would an entire nation’s government restrict an app? Others see it as over-precaution or dictatorship. They didn’t want to find out the disastrous results that it would have on their nation’s future.

The sense of wanting to become older has gone; they are a few clicks away from grasping the mindset of adult life. There was once a time when you could expect a child’s dream job or life goal to be borderline absurd because of the joy and imagination. Now they are more likely to follow a path that they have spent their time consuming on the internet, mixed in with a short attention span and the rise in ADHD cases. It makes absolute sense why the statistics prove that they want to be content creators. The instant gratification from a career that presents the illusion of how they make a living from recording their ‘everyday life’ would be so appealing. I believe the moment a child decides to become an adult backed by the world to support them, it's time to start counting your days. A child is not meant to accelerate their minds without this much lack of guidance and support. This disruption almost feels unethical.

It’s inventive what content creators are doing and it could possibly seem realistic and worthy of their time. The engagement, the views and behind-the-scenes all contribute to their altered view of success. Privacy is no longer a double-edged sword but a guillotine. The mystery behind an occupation was the satisfaction, the skill, patience and reward that those traits cultivated. Now they are being stripped away because of the devaluing of their contribution to society. Children should not be overly exposed to high levels of data, information, lifestyles and professions. Parental guidance needs to be examined quickly. People are willingly offering their lives to be like the Truman Show.

Building a following slowly and steadily will always be honourable because of the effort and genuine connection you build, as opposed to the route of highly concentrated exposure tactics to gain traction and build a platform. Either way, both roads are leading to the demand of knowing more under the guise of a connection.  It’s different from a noble success story because it dissolves the sanctity that was made to protect the space of your life from what you do. I understand people wanting to know more about the finer details of their day, to feel closer but the price is too high. at this point, inflation is on the brink or it could be already here. The banking system behind this system has been under attack for decades and the tide may not be turning.

Children’s minds are not exploring worlds and are being dragged to reality-ridden concepts. Their growth is being stunted immensely. They are running out of mediums to inspire them. The live shows I had were still centred on adventure & creativity. Studios bringing back these shows won’t work because they are being created under a different lens. There are several articles proving that the people running them come from financial backgrounds are causing the dysfunction in Hollywood and wherever their influence reaches. Creativity is up against distraction which is at an all-time high. It’s alarming that we are literally being left to our devices, pun intended and witnessing the effects. Granted content creators will try to bring back these creative formulas but to no avail because they will be forgotten just as intensely as they were created.  The content comes as fast as it goes.

Measuring our lives to analytics and engagement sounds ludicrous already but these are becoming facts. Sports and music are being argued by their level of brilliance and impact by engagement and stats as opposed to individual uniqueness and passion to the craft. All the exposure to technology from a biochemical point of view will also interfere with our body’s chemistry. Instead of listening to our bodies which alternative therapy and different cultures have practiced for centuries, it will be easier to listen to technology or AI. This isn’t new as the notion has been around for a few decades but now it feels like the matrix is speeding up the process.

I’d like to be a part of the movement that sees the bigger picture. It’s more than nostalgia, metrics and visual aesthetics. Where is the love and truth about life? Art has always had meaning and the visual arts are losing that quickly. Amazing concepts that lack hidden knowledge are why it is no longer lasting. The children who grow up to be adults will skip a generation of art to seek answers.

If the purity of truth continues to be sacrificed for instant gratification. No strike will save art in from heavy sensitization. More shows will be cancelled, sooner or later and true creative beings and their expression will be shadow banned.

It’s never been just about making it, I grew up on the notion that you ‘made it’ because your art had truth, integrity and wisdom. Making it as wacky, beautiful, and mysterious or cliché as possible and being in a whirlwind of emotions would lead you on a journey that would remind you that you are the missing piece you were always looking for.

Stay youthful, for you also have a child that looks up to you even if you don’t have children.
