Time Capsule Series: Batman ~ Under The Red Hood

If I allow myself to go to that place, I’ll never come back

In a frozen deserted town, Bruce (Batman) is soaring over slopes and debris on a snowmobile to reach a destination against a ticking clock. He accelerates over one more slope propelling him high into the air to be within walking distance. Seconds later a huge explosion erupts, blasting him away. Quickly regaining his senses, Jason (Robin) was in the building he was desperately trying to rescue.

Years later crime bosses attend a meeting in a warehouse but are puzzled by who arranged it. A voice announces that they will be taking the seat at the head of their organisation. They laugh off the voices' boastful claim while mentioning the influence of their current employer. A gym bag filled with gifts is thrown on the table where they are seated, to make them understand their new terms and conditions. Bruce arrives at a shipyard tracking illegal activity and questions the henchmen involved but is taken out by a sniper.

Once they identify the trajectory of the shots fired, a chase leads Bruce and the mystery assailant to a factory. The man states his name is Red Hood and claims the location they are standing in was "the sight of your first failure, maybe your greatest". The use of weaponry between them leads to an explosion allowing Red Hood to flee. Going through the intel he collected on video at the Batcave, he isolates Red Hood's last few words right before he disappeared. "You haven't lost your touch, Bruce". A DNA sample confirms that the mystery villain is Jason, his protege that was in the explosion in Bosnia. At that moment Bruce has flashbacks of Jason from a boy full of light and excitement to a young adult with more swagger and aggression.

He later finds Jason surrounded by assassins with futuristic tech assigned to eliminate him. After taking down three of them with perfectly synced combat, the last is repulsively murdered triggering Bruce. Jason defends his actions with the logic that he's cleaning up Gotham by forcefully taking out the competition. He believes Bruce's methods won't work against those who would oppose him. In order to control crime, why not coexist while taking a percentage in the process. This is something the government understand quite well, they just operate as silent partners. The former head of the crime syndicate Black Mask feels the pressure mounting from Jason. His paranoia leads him to enter negotiations with, the Joker.

To end Bruce's confusion behind Jason's resurrection, he digs up the casket to identify the body and confirms it is a high-end latex replacement. Arriving at a lavish isolated palace, Bruce enters the building to question one of the few men capable of misleading him. Tyrant and leader of the league of the shadows, Ra's Al Ghul. "I was in the middle of toppling the world economy", is an insight into the type of being Ra's is. He explains that he wanted to pay for his involvement in Bosnia. Ra's has walked the earth for six centuries thanks to the Lazarus pit (holy water) in his palace. Not only is it known for its healing abilities but it's also rumoured to grant immortality; in other words the ability to sustain a stronger relationship with his higher self. He's been able to deal with the countless versions of himself to rise to that state of evolution. Although his crimes are unjust, they are done with greater purpose and noble intention.

"My little dip in his fountain of youth turned me rabid or is this just the real me". Jason's awareness allows you to analyse an accurate depiction of what would happen if you left this world with problems unattended. Imagine the life agreement if you were to come back prematurely. Bruce feels responsible for Jason's existence and offers him help with what he perceives to be his mind going through a possession. Although Jason claims he is free because he accepts his dark nature, he is still a slave to the weaker interpretations of love and other negative emotions. The literal sense of the past coming to haunt you.

"I don't know what clouds your judgement worse, your guilt or antiquated sense of morality. Bruce I forgive you for not saving me but why, why on god's earth is HE still alive".

Jason's purpose since his return has been to understand why Joker hasn't suffered, knowing he was responsible for his death. Bruce explains that he battles every day with the immense irritation of killing the Joker. He fears that if he were to cross that line, he wouldn't be able to return from the depths of darkness. Joker is highly impressed with Jason's efforts, commitment and infatuation towards him. Jason presents Bruce with an ultimatum which he believes should prove the love Bruce has for him by ending the Jokers life but Bruce walks awayAll three of them combined represent the triangle of life, the good, the unknown and the outcome. Thus allowing an individual to decide their own fate which is the fundamental perspective of life itself.

Jason represents the rage you suppress within you. In order to evolve, you must understand and harness the true difference between love and hate (attachment), allowing you to become one with your divine nature.
